• J. Kevin Meaders, J.D*., CFP®, ChFC, CLU

    CEO, founder and managing partner of Magellan Planning Group and a Registered Principal with Voya Financial Advisors

    An Atlanta native, Kevin's family settled in Georgia in the late 1780's and is widely known for Meaders Pottery, which has some pieces proudly displayed in the Smithsonian.  Kevin graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta with a double B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science.  While at Oglethorpe, Kevin served as class president three out of four years and interned under then Secretary of State Max Cleland and also under then Governor Zell Miller.  Immediately after graduation, Kevin accepted an invitation from the University of Moscow in Russia to pursue further study in post-Cold War Eastern European economic integration.

    Kevin graduated from Georgia State University College of Law, focusing on estate planning and trust law.  In addition, upon completion of required studies and a national two-day board examination, he earned the designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP ® ).   Kevin has continued his life-long process of education and has also earned the designations of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.  Kevin is also maintains the General Securities Principal and Registered Representative registrations with Voya Financial Advisors (member SIPC). He is also an Investment Advisor Representative of Voya Financial Advisors.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Georgia State Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association.

    On a personal note, Kevin has played drums since age 5, picked up trumpet at age 13, and guitar at age 33.  An avid animal lover, Kevin donates some of his time and money to the Atlanta Humane Society, Noah's Wish, PAWS, and Fur-Kids.  He also currently serves on the President's Advisory Council of Oglethorpe University, and is active in Oglethorpe's Alumni committees.  Kevin served as a presenter at Emory University's Center for Lifelong Learning, has been published in national financial magazines, and seen on TV's "Atlanta & Co."

    Kevin and his wife Gui, a native of Brazil, live in Brookhaven.

    Leonard F. Bittner, J.D.

    CFO and managing partner of Magellan Planning Group

    Len is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a BS in Business Administration and Accounting.  He was president of the Olympic Club while on campus.  Len also graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he earned Order of the Coif by graduating second in his class.  He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Tennessee Law Review his senior year and was the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity Graduate of the Year. 

    Len has been practicing law for over thirty years with a primary focus in trust and estate law, and was one of the first attorneys in Georgia to recognize the special needs of our aging population by becoming involved in a newly recognized area of the law known as Elder Law.  He was one of the early members of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.  He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Georgia State Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association.  In addition, Len is a member of the Cobb Justice Foundation and also serves on the Professional Advisory Board of "Operation Homefront," which is dedicated to providing assistance to the families of deployed service members.

    On the personal side, Len is a Viet Nam veteran, serving in the U. S. Army until honorably discharged in 1968.  Len has one daughter, Cody, who graduated from the University of Georgia and earned a graduate degree at the University of Colorado.  She is a schoolteacher in Asheville, North Carolina.  She and her husband, Josh, made Len a grandfather for the first time with his granddaughter, Vivianna.  Len and his wife, Anita, who recently retired after thirty years with BellSouth, live in Indian Hills in Marietta.

    Dale G. Erridge, CRPC®

    Financial Advisor

    Dale is a member of Magellan Planning Group's financial planning team. He brings with him over 17 years of business and customer related experience, spanning 3 countries on 3 different continents, and has served at an executive level.

    Dale is a graduate of Damelin Randburg where he studied Business Administration, and has completed the Certificate in Financial Planning through The University of Georgia's Terry College of Business. He is also an Investment Advisor Representative with Voya Financial Advisors, holding Series 7 and 66 registrations, as well as life and variable insurance licenses.  Dale also holds the highly respected CRPC Designation (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor)

    Dale is originally from South Africa where he served in the South African Defense Force, achieving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. For the last 9 years he has called Atlanta home and now resides in the Smyrna area with his wife Alisa, daughter Ava Simone, and son, Aiden.

    Dale's passion for serving is expressed through his active participation in SafeHouse Outreach, a big brother program for underprivileged kids within Atlanta, and he supports the "Make a Wish" foundation and a host of animal related charities. Dale is a member of the South African American Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Buckhead Church in Atlanta.

    Henry Spil, CPA, CFP®

    Henry is a graduate of Emory University, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He later earned his Master of Science in Taxation from Florida International University.

    Henry has over 25 years of solid tax experience - working with clients, saving them tax dollars whenever possible and representing them before the IRS when necessary.

    Before coming to Magellan Tax, Henry worked with two public accounting firms in Atlanta. He then joined Bank of America where he managed the trust tax department, which prepared over 3,000 trust returns during tax season.

    Henry moved back to Atlanta, from his hometown of Miami, in 1997. During the last 12 years, Henry has been active on the Alumni Board at Emory's Business School, headed the Safety Committee for his civic association in Brookhaven, and was a board member and treasurer of his synagogue, Congregation Or Hadash, in Sandy Springs. Henry is also adjunct faculty at Oglethorpe University, where he teaches tax in the Certified Financial Planner® program.

    Henry is fluent in Spanish, having been born in Cuba.  He and his wife, Jenise, live in Brookhaven.

    Richard P. LeBel, CRPC®, CMFC

    Financial Advisor

    Rick is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, with a B.A. degree in International Studies and has been in the Securities business for over 35 years. In the 1980's, Rick steered his career from investment banking toward branch management, spending time at Lehman Brothers, Raymond James and Legg Mason. Rick later accepted a bank position in SC as a Producing Manager. While there, he served on the Executive Leadership Team and helped create a Wealth Advisory Department to include trust and financial services.

    While in North Carolina, Rick served on the boards of both the YMCA Indian Guide Program and the Charlotte Sister Cities and was the CSC's representative to the Mayor's International Cabinet. In Columbia, Rick was also very active in that community, serving on the foundation board for two elementary schools and an athletic 501c-3, for whom he served for 13 years.  He continues to service clients in the Southeast, out of offices in Columbia, S.C. and Atlanta, GA.

    Rick is an Investment Advisor Representative with Voya Financial Advisors and holds Series 63, 7, 65 registrations and life and health insurance licenses. He has been with Voya Financial Advisors since 2006 and with Magellan Planning Group since 2013.

    Rick and his wife, Beth, are the proud parents of Emily, a junior at the University of Alabama, and Paige, a UGA graduate.

    Melissa K. Krueger

    Director of Branch Operations

    After more than 10 years with Magellan Planning Group, Melissa recently became a partner in the firm. She keeps the office running smoothly and works closely with Kevin to help manage our clients' financial affairs. Melissa graduated from Kennesaw State University with a BBA in Business Management and has received her insurance license. Melissa's years of experience in the service industry have greatly contributed to her exceptional customer service. In her free time, Melissa enjoys traveling, golfing, movies and spending time with family and friends.

    Cameron Blake Bozeman

    Financial Representative

    Blake studied Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Blake's responsibilities include research, analysis, and coordinating investments and account management, coordinating investment committee meetings, preparing quantitative retirement projections, and researching and optimizing customized asset allocation models for individual client accounts.

    Blake has passed the Series 7 General Securities Representative, Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law and Series 65 Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examinations.  He holds Georgia Life and Health insurance and variable insurance licenses.  He is a Registered Representative and an Investment Advisor Representative registered with Voya Financial Advisors.

    Blake enjoys higher mathematics, astronomy and organic gardening.  He has been involved in personal investing since the early 90's.  Blake is native to Atlanta and a proud father, raising twin daughters.  

    Jennifer L. Shoemaker

    Director of Client Relations

    Jennifer graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Marketing. Immediately following graduation, she headed to Atlanta to launch her business career, working in the tradeshow exhibit industry for more than six years. In 2003, Jennifer left the business-to-business field and came to Magellan Planning Group, where she could work with people on a more personal level.

    Jennifer handles all of our marketing efforts, whether to the general public or to our own family of clients, including event planning, website development and maintenance, newsletters, and overall client satisfaction. Jennifer is our point of contact for what we're doing right and what we can do better.

    Jennifer also assists Magellan Legal with estate planning. In the fall of 2011, Jennifer completed the paralegal studies program at the Emory University School of Continuing Education, earning a Paralegal Certificate. Jennifer lives with her family in Avondale Estates.

    Kristen R. Parker

    Client Relations

    Kristen will be the first person to greet you with a smile, whether on the phone or in person. She is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English. She is originally from Auburn, Alabama and recently moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in the field of marketing. 

    Kristen's interest in marketing began during an internship while attending Auburn University. She learned a great deal about social media marketing for businesses, primarily business to consumer outreach. She is excited about putting that experience to use for Magellan Planning Group. 

    Kristen also assists Jennifer with other marketing efforts and event planning, and supports Melissa in running the office. In her spare time Kristen enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her family and friends, and two new kittens.
