Martin Lysaght
Senior Portfolio Manager/Investment Advisor Representative
“Wall Street Experience, Main Street Advice”
Martin graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree and studied Fed Watching & Interest Rate projections at the New York Institute of Finance.
After graduating from Tech, he followed his dream of working on “Wall Street”, spending 17 years in lower Manhattan gaining real Wall Street experience. As First Vice President of Institutional Sales for Lehman Brothers, Martin originated, managed, and executed business in financial futures, foreign exchange, commodities, options, and global equities. He cultivated clients that included Hedge Funds of all sizes, the Central Bank of Canada, IBM pension fund when it was the largest pension fund in the US, and Dia-Ichi Kanko Bank Tokyo when it was the largest bank in the world. Martin was the youngest First Vice President at age 27 and was considered the resident options expert while working on Lehman’s derivatives trading floor. He earned Presidents Council status while at Prudential Securities for his contributions and worked for ABN-Amro Inc, the Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation, and Greenwich Capital Markets during those years.
In 2000 Martin transitioned from “Wall Street” to “Main Street”, moving from Short Hills, NJ, to Roswell, GA. He ultimately gave up his brokerage licenses (series 7, 3 & 15) to focus fully on Main Street investors as an Investment Advisor Representative (series 65) in a fiduciary capacity putting his clients’ interests first. His Registered Investment Advisory experience includes serving as firm Principal, President, Chief Compliance Officer, investment manager, portfolio manager, and financial advisor to Main Street clients. He is solely responsible for the investment management decisions on his accounts. Martin served as Chief Compliance Office for 2 years and was the primary individual responsible during an SEC examination. In an interesting twist, Martin previously worked at Magellan from 2002 to 2004, meeting Kevin and working with Len again. Today, he occupies the same office that he had in 2002.
Martin currently resides in East Marietta with his long-term partner Jeane. He has 3 grown boys Kyle, Logan, and Camden. He is an avid golfer and former competitive ice hockey player and coach, holding the highest coaching certification (level 4) under USA hockey.
